Selling a house in the United States is not an easy task. It involves many aspects and it is easy to fall into traps if you are not careful. Today, I have sorted out 7 things that should not be ignored. I hope everyone can sell the house at their ideal price. The following are 7 things that must be checked before selling a house:

Deodorize Your House

We all get so used to the smell of our own homes that we don’t notice them, but when a buyer walks into your home, you want to make sure it makes a good first impression.

Ventilate the house to remove stuffy air and remove cat litter trays, dog beds, or anything else that may have pet odors. If there is any mold in the house, it often leaves a musty smell and makes the house seem unhealthy. Spray it with white vinegar to remove the mold, then scrub it with hot water and baking soda and let it dry. This will kill most of the mold and reduce the musty smell.

The smell of garlic in your kitchen can also put off buyers. Use hot, soapy water to clean your stovetop and oven as well as the surrounding areas.

Additionally, all trash cans in the house should be empty and clean.

Waste Removal

If your house has a lot of storage space, such as basements, attics, etc., it's easy to accumulate a lot of unused, unnecessary clutter. Buyers may worry that these clutter will be left for them to sort out, which may be a turnoff, so it's best to clear them out in advance to show that your house has plenty of storage space. This will also reduce the amount of stuff to move when you move.

Know What to Include When You Sell Your Home

As for whether items such as statues, potted plants or chandeliers can be removed, the general rule is that anything attached should be left behind and portable items can be removed. If you wish to take any fixed items with you, this can be stated in the terms of the contract.

Put Away Personal Items

After entering your house, buyers will imagine themselves living in it. If your dressing table, walls, etc. are decorated with many photos of the homeowner, they will feel that they have entered someone else's territory. Therefore, during the sale of the house, all photos should be put away to allow the artwork to naturally present its original style to attract more buyers.

Lock Up Your Valuables

While sterling silver goblets may look beautiful on a sideboard, this expensive, portable item may not add much to a property's value and could attract thieves during an open house, so it should be locked away in advance.

Avoid Exposure Problems

Many houses have problems, don't draw the attention of potential buyers. If you have nowhere to store your vacuum cleaner, leave it in the car at the open house. If you don't have much counter space in the kitchen, remove the kettle, microwave or toaster to make it look like there is plenty of space. If the room is small, remove bulky furniture and replace it with smaller pieces.

Eliminate Pests

Nothing will turn a buyer away faster than a house full of ants, cockroaches, or mouse droppings. Luckily, these scary infestations are easy to deal with. Remove any signs of bugs, clean cabinets inside and out, and make sure your home is pest-free and ready to attract the next buyer.
